The Bahamas Financial Services Board recently hosted its second "Special Programme for Intermediaries in Nassau" (SPIN). Through SPIN, it is our intention to complement the work of Bahamian practitioners who travel to various locations to provide intermediaries and other opinion leaders with information on our industry, by inviting international intermediaries to The Bahamas to build stronger relationships with Bahamian institutions and regulators.
This second SPIN targeted the Funds sector, and was hosted in collaboration with the Bahamas Fund Association. The international intermediaries participating in the Funds sector meetings confirmed that The Bahamas is a "viable alternative investment funds jurisdiction".
The Minister of Financial Services and Investments provided a Welcome Message to the Funds SPIN (see following article), speaking to new legislative developments and assuring the visitors of the Government's commitment to do whatever it takes to ensure that "The Bahamas is seen as a viable choice for financial institutions and their clients."
