The 23rd annual Bahamas Business Outlook (BBO) conference has been scheduled for January 13, 2014, at the Melia Nassau Beach Resort, under the theme: Charting the Course for Growth in 2014. “At Outlook 2013, we were very pleased when Prime Minister Christie expressed an interest in returning to speak in 2014. We feel privileged that he is taking time from a hectic schedule to join us,” said Joan Albury, president of TCL Group, founder and chief organiser of the Business Outlook. BBO focuses on the challenges The Bahamas faces and the opportunities indicated for the New Year. “At BBO 2014 attendees can expect to get a lot of timely and informed facts and opinions on such subjects as VAT, the tourism and hospitality picture, of which Baha Mar and its anticipated December 2014 opening are a significant part”, continues Mrs. Albury. The annual event, established in 1991 at the height of the Gulf War, attracts presenters and attendees from across the economic and social spectrum. It brings together many of the prime movers and shakers in The Bahamas, particularly from the financial services and business sectors. The forum is also widely seen as a prime opportunity for networking.
