Fighting Organised Crime In A Global Financial Market - arranged in conjunction with and through support from The Banker, an FT Business Publication
Wednesday 8th June 2005 London Stock Exchange, 10 Paternoster Square, London EC4M 7LS
Overview
The Banker's annual Combating Financial Crime conference is rapidly becoming a landmark event in CEO's and SEO's diaries. In 2005, it will refocus the anti-money laundering and fraud debate back on to the reason why robust systems and controls are needed – to help curtail and deter the money laundering activities of serious and organised international crime syndicates. In addition, delegates will learn not only how organised crime is reacting to the new legislation in the UK, but they will also gain insight into the current international crime trends as well as some of the best practice solutions now available to banks.
Combating Financial Crime 2005 will also give key decision makers from government agencies and industry leaders a chance to discuss some of the critical issues in a non-contentious environment, whilst reviewing the progress made to date in the continuing fight against organised criminal activity. This conference will not just raise the profile of the issue but it aims to improve the informal communication flows necessary to help foil criminal gangs' attempts to launder funds through the City of London and the wider financial systems.
